St. Louis Disc Dogs Spring Friendly Results

This competition was held at Purina Farms on the Purina Event Center's Flying Disc Field on Saturday April 27th of 2013.  If it wasn't raining it was drizzling.  The temperature maxed out at 55 degrees F, but the winds were calm!  And that made for a soggy but safe competition.

I want to send out a big thank you to the Purina staff that were on the ball with the equipment we asked for and for continuing to improve the Flying Disc Field.  It looks wonderful and lush this year.

Thank you to the volunteers that help run the show, judging in the rain, time keepers huddled under a tent trying to keep the computer dry, and the people that drove out and got us sandwiches and retrieved the 72 medals that almost didn't make it to the field...

And to the competitors: Thank You for making the 4th annual Spring Friendly a success in many ways.  I hope you all traveled well and got to your homes safe and dry.  You are a hard core bunch of disc doggers.  There wasn't just a couple great rounds thrown down in the dank weather, there was a bunch of awesomeness, including a perfect round in Timed Course.  And we got to welcome a first time disc dogger that I think we hooked in to our sport.

This was a one day version of the Disc Dog Combined Championships Rules.  STLDD events are going to have a Senior Division for all events this year, and this was our first competition with it, it was a hit with the older folks...  And also we added to the DDCC rules an Over-all Team Domination for each division, the turn out for this competition was a bit light, but we did have two teams of three compete for the cash prize in the Pro Division.
